Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) better known by her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. The label released her first EP titled Pho in October 2016 where she started to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012, with the release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she released new music through the internet including Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as on Sweat It Out on July 21 the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's reference. In the following year, her music was circulating around Dreamville. The announcement that she would be signed by Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. Backseat, a track she performed alongside Cozz for The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. The singer released Pho, her debut album on October 21 the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. Also, she was featured on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus together with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The debut single, called Whipped Cream, from the album was released on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a the music video. On November 9 she released two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 2013, she released No One, and Pedigree. She was featured with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16th, and made the track available as a solo single on her first album. In February 2019 the video music for this track was launched. The track has garnered over three million YouTube views within a week. In December 2018, she was part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
